Monday December 28th, 2015 in Washington, IL started off normal. Then an" Ice Storm and Freezing Rain" came through. Our power was out from Monday afternoon to Wednesday evening. I am very grateful to my husband for keeping the generator full of gas so we had heat, light, and a refrigerator full of food. It kept my brain thinking on how to do Mother Goose Time lessons without power. We jumped in with both feet and counted with all kinds of stars. We worked on recognizing the shape of the star , counting to 8, and different colors of stars.
The "Star Wand Project" gave the children plenty of opportunites to make something completely on their own. For a child to find out they can make something by themselves is so important.
Our More Math and More Literacy work books have
been giving the kids skills they need.
The kids made progress with being able to write M, V, and X. The page with matching the sight words was fabulous. The workbooks have helped a lot with letter and word recognition and the kids love doing them.
The "Sights and Sounds of Winter" toy box is amazing. I would like to leave it out for another week to give the kids more time to play with it. They have loved the " Activity Blocks " too. I wish I would have gotten the Mother Goose Time toy boxes sooner. The kids have gotten so much from this one.
We are so excited because there are more adventures waiting for us with Mother Goose Time Curriculum. We will be back very soon to share everything we have been learning.
