Suitcases

Washington, Illinois has seen an ice storm, a ton of rain, and now we had a snow storm. We have 3 to 5 inches of snow on the ground now and it is 3 degrees outside. We all have been keeping warm with " Going on Safari ".  " What can you find in a suitcase?" started everyone talking. The kids told me you find clothes, shoes, and toothbrushes in a suitcase.

We still need more work on "
 How hats
protect your head?" . The kids did very well making the "Safari Hat". They were able to do the hat on their own. I was getting excited to see how each child was going to make their hat. The kids got fine motor practice and they got to be as creative as they wanted to be.

The kids felt their "Safari Hats" needed more color so they made their own designs.

The kids loved the Cheetah tissue paper. I let them rip the tissue paper into pieces and glue it on to their hats. While the kids were doing this activity I noticed they were very relaxed and focused.

All of us have been investigating the "Theme Poster". We had the Safari Counters out and we were matching up the animals in the "Theme Poster" with the same "Safari Counter". I also asked them what color the "Safari Counter " was too. We got some animal and color recognition practice. We will be back very soon with more " Going on Safari " adventures with Mother Goose Time Curriculum.
