Tomatoes and Kiwi Fruit

Today was a gorgeous and beautiful day.  It got up to 60 degrees today in Washington, IL.  I do not feel Winter is over for us.  I look out the window and I see many happy children riding their bikes up and down the street. I even had my daycare kids outside too. All the kids were so happy to be outside. It was like they had never been outside before. "What do we put on a table before we eat?" I got responses of plates, forks, and that "I eat at my own table."
"Who sets the table in your home?" got me responses that made me smile. All the children told me that they help set the table. I want all the kids to be able to do things for themselves.

"How Are You Peeling?" is such an amazing and imaginative book.  The different faces on the fruits and vegetables were the favorite parts for all the kids. The different faces on the oranges got all of us laughing.

All the sunglasses, hats, and noses that came with the storyboard made the story come to life even more. All the children kept trying to make the same faces that they saw on the fruits and vegetables in the book. All the kids decided to have their own healthy food store. They used the cash register. They also used some small rubber animals as for food. They got practice with logic , math, patterns, and social skills.

All the children had so much fun with doing their own store. They got my middle daughter Caitlyn to play with them.
Our adventures are getting better every second with Mother Goose Time Curriculum. We are going to go have more learning adventures. We will come back and visit very soon.

We did some investigating of the "Food and Fitness Theme Poster". All the children took interest in the "Theme Poster".  We talked about how you can have all kinds of healthy foods on your plate when you eat a meal. The kids even had a snack of juice and mandarin  oranges. This helped all of us get fueled up so we could do our "Mother Goose Time " lesson.

The kids use the "Looking Glasses" all month long. I have still been putting the "Looking Glasses " on strings right by the "Theme Poster" so the children can easily use them. We got the privilege of learning about our "Global Friend from Libya". I love how there is different facts with the countries that the children can relate to.

"What parts of your body can you stretch?" All the children understood this question better when we did "Spin and Stretch". I had been wanting to teach the children some Yoga ans stretching. I was just as excited as the kids to do this. My youngest daughter Makayla even wanted to do the stretches. The children kept spinning and stretching for almost 30 minutes.

''Kick or Don't Kick''helped the children learn what is the correct item to kick. All the kids gave me a long list of what not to kick. They said cats, people, phone book, flowers, and guinea pigs.

"Ball Patterns " made the children think about how the pattern fit together. They struggled some with this pattern. It will appear again for more practice.

"Catch-It Cups" let the children work on their creativity and fine motor skills. They played with these the rest of the day.

I like to write the children's names on the name tags and laminate them. Then the children can practice writing their names with a dry erase marker. This is fantastic for emergent reading, writing, and fine motor skills.

    We grabbed our book
''Dan Ran". These books have helped the children start to recognize the words. The "Sight Word
Pointers " are a great help. They are giving the children another chance to look at the word. The letters and the words become more familiar.

These are some of the reasons I am very blessed. This is my daughter Makayla, my niece Sophie, my nephew Owen, and my nephew Jack. We actually got to celebrate Makayla's birthday all together.  We had trains, Star Wars , and cake. Mother Goose Time Curriculum keeps all of us learning new things all the time. We are all ready to go on our next adventure with Mother Goose Curriculum. We are going to be back to share everything we are doing and learning.                 Patty
