JELLYFISHING

    Cookies
and Shape Builders had definitely been a part of our week. The Christmas lights are on all over Washington, Illinois , but we do not have any snow yet. All the kids are out of school for "Christmas Break" too. We have had temperatures in 50's and in the 30's. This has been a weird December so far. The kids got out the "Race Car Letter Cards" and started matching letters by themselves. This was amazing to watch them do this on their own.

"What shapes can cookies be ?" started a great conversation. The first answer to come out of their mouth
   was "Circle ".
We talked about what other shapes could be.
"Cookie Shapes" was a blast . The shape design mats and the shape builder  let the kids work on their fine motor skills. They also had a chance to use their logic and creativity. The shape builders and the big jingle bells have given all the children a positive way to spend their time and they are learning as well.

"Cookie Plate Art" is an excellent way to teach shapes and let the kids express themselves. I remember doing this activity. I am very excited that Mother Goose Time added more cookie shapes this time. I love the "Gingerbread" and the "Circle "cookies. My youngest daughter Makayla even made one. We are going to try to add more cookies to the plate this coming week.

"What do you know about tea?" was funny. I had to explain that tea comes from tea leaves. We may need to watch a video about this to help the children understand it better. We did the "Pouring Tea" part of the lesson and at first nobody liked the tea. I had to add sugar to it for the kids to drink the tea. One of the kids asked me a question about the tea bag," Do you get to take it in and out like Jellyfishing?"  After laughing I said
"Yes". We painted the teapot with the tea bag until the tea bag broke . After this the kids used their fingers. I loved the way the teapots turned out.
They are very unique.

This activity was fabulous. I got out a play tea set I already had and I put the "X" and "V" on the bottom of the cups. I had the kids pick up one of "Phonics Cards " and then had them find a matching letter on the tea cup.

The Number 8 came to see us. I colored it and put the numbers 1 to 8 on it. I let the kids use some counters so they could practice counting to eight.

All the kids have been enjoying being a veterinarian. They love taking care of the animals. They give them shots, food, and water. I even had to get out more dress up clothes for the kids. We have many adventures waiting for us with Mother Goose Time Curriculum. We are excited that we will be able to share more adventures very soon.
