We have been to Earth , Mercury, Mars , Venus , and Pluto this week. With homeschooling my daughter and doing Mother Goose Time Curriculum with my daycare kids all of them have surprised me with their enthusiasm for learning about space and the planets. It helps so much that the Mother Goose Time Curriculum is all put together for each day and they have an excellent lessons plans to go with them. It also makes it easy if I want to add something to the lesson. I can not really tell which activity the children enjoyed the most this week because they had a great time with everything . I do know that they are looking forward to this coming week . They are wanting to learn about more planets and do more activities and so am I .

Traveling through the universe and visiting the planets
We have continued our journey through the universe in the 2nd week of " Blast Off to Space " . Our first stop this week was Earth . One of my daycare kids was very determined to convince me that he did not live on planet Earth . My daycare kids loved being introduced to the letter " R" by being a rocket and landing on the letter " R" . The flew like a rocket all over my house. I have been playing the music that came with "Mother Goose Curriculum " and I have been noticing that the daycare children , my youngest daughter , and even me seem to relax and enjoy the lessons more with the music on . One of my daycare children that has very hard time listening sometimes also does much better as well . I am thinking about getting the " Dance n Beats " DVD for this month . The kids would really enjoy it . Our Alien side came out when we made our " Alien Headbands " . The kids wanted to wear them again today. They are eager to take them home . We visited Mercury today . My daycare kids were ready to take on " Hot and Cold Mercury " . They did such a fantastic job on it . My daycare kids were very funny when we got to the " Climbing Craters " part of the lesson . They jumped over craters and got the Spanish Cards . I think I will do the " Moon Spinner " part of the lesson again . My daycare kids sat for quite a while doing it . The last part of this lesson " Next to the Sun " got me laughing . I asked one of the little boys I take care of " What would happen to the rabbit if it got to close to the sun ? " . His response was " It would be dead ." Every single day my kids and my daycare kids amaze me with everything they can do . Our journey continues tomorrow.

Constellations and Counting Clouds
My daycare kids , my youngest daughter and I have been enjoying ourselves this week. We have been learning about constellations and how to use a telescope . I am always looking for different ways to make learning fun for my daughter and for my daycare children. I found silicone cupcake liners in the shape of stars and I have been trying to use them for counting , sorting, and even with working with patterns. We also got to count clouds today. The children liked counting the cotton balls. They had a blast making their own " Pet Cloud". One child name the I cloud Mickey Mouse and the other child named their cloud Minnie Mouse. Between the Mother Goose Time Curriculum and the More Math and More Literacy Workbooks all of us have been having a great time together.

Space and Stars
So far the " Blast Off to Space " Mother Goose Time Curriculum is going over very well with my daycare kids. We have done " Day 1 Stars " . We did not do " Day 2 " today because where I live in Illinois got an ice storm last night and today so they closed all the schools. We are going to do "Day 2 and Day 3 " tomorrow. We did do some work in the "More Math and More Literacy " workbooks. I also took out the foam stars for this month and after I removed them from the foam I taped the other piece on my dry erase board and the daycare kids had fun drawing stars. The daycare kids also love the wooden moon and planets manipulative for this month. I have it out on one of the play tables and the minute one of the kids see it they have it out in less than thirty seconds. I am excited for tomorrow because I am having as much fun as the kids are.
